Gig & Album Reviews

FEBRUARY13th guest - SKYHOOK. Review
Devizes Folk Club,
Skyhook (Cath, Martin and Eoin) Played
a really great set this evening at the
club. Numbers were not particularly
high but, as usual, the quality of
floor singers was good. Mick Hiscock
started us up with a fine rendition of
Raglan road and we had a good number
other fabulous songs, including a
lovely one from Paul darby and a poem
from "Barred from Bromham" poet Andy
reminding us of the potential perils of
Valentines day!
Skyhook started up with some fine tunes
and, although he was suffering somewhat
with  a newly contracted Flu-ey thing,
Eoin sang some excellent songs. 2 x 45
minute sets later alongside the cosy
fire in the club room,we went away
happy  clutching a copy of their CD. We
would heartily recommend this threesome
and will be looking forward to hearing
them again soon.<p> more details of

Sulis, devizes Folk Club, 24th october 2011
Sulis played really well. The content and arrangements were well balanced and just enough songs to throw a good bit of variety into the mix. favourite bits were two really long sets with the amazing Shetlands Set being the ultimate set of tunes - really, really good. Thanks guys for a great evening. Good number of audience to the club as well. BB
