The Trowbridge festival is Dead - Long live the Village Pump festival!

Hi all just heard this from our trusty person on the Village Pump committee.
Village Pump Folk Festival - yes, it is going ahead and you have only 10 days left to purchase tickets at the early bird price of £95

Some of you may have been aware that there were going to be 2 roots music based festivals in the Trowbridge Area this summer which has caused some confusion - The Village Pump Folk Festival 20, 21 and 22 July and Trowbridge Festival 2 - 5 August.  It became clear to many that the area would not be able to support two summer festivals with a similar target audience and the Trowbridge Festival has now announced that it will not go ahead this summer.

So lets be clear The VILLAGE PUMP FOLK FESTIVAL IS STILL GOING AHEAD AS ADVERTISED: Some of you may be confused by an announcement made yesterday by The Trowbridge Festival.  Please allow us to put your mind at rest. We are NOT the same festival, and we are DEFINITELY NOT cancelling.  Arrangements for The Village Pump Folk Festival are extremely well advanced and the festival will be taking place as advertised. Tickets which are selling very well are still available at the early bird price until 31st March (inclusive) at £95 and a thereafter at £110 to include camping and car parking.

THE festival in West Wiltshire this summer will be The Village Pump Folk Festival 20, 21 and 22 July and we would be grateful if you could make your friends and colleagues aware of the event and that we are NOT cancelling. After all Festival Patron Steve Knightley of Show of Hands who visited the site back in October said "I think this will become an essential part of the summer festival circuit".

The festival as previously advertised will take place just a few miles south of Trowbridge in a beautiful country park beneath the Westbury White Horse.
We think it will be one of the biggest events in the summer music calendar because we have secured the top names in folk and roots music and are certain that it will attract a wide audience of all ages to enjoy an eclectic range of different musical forms under the overall umbrella of roots based music.
The guest list is too long to reproduce here but includes Oysterband, Seth Lakeman, Show Of Hands, Cara Dillon, Karine Polwart, Fay Hield and the Hurricane Party, 3 Daft Monkeys, Ben Waters, Allan Taylor, Peter Knight's Gigspanner, Michael Chapman, O'Hooley and Tidow, Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin, Jenna Witts, Allan Yn Y Fan, My Darling Clementine, Keith Christmas, Reg Meuross Band, Elbow Jane, Roving Crows, Johnny Coppin & Mike Silver, Luke Jackson, Moscow Drug Club and Bristol’s Mike Scott……and many, many more.
There is everything you would expect from a festival of this quality - two main stages and a club tent, plenty of parking and camping space, included in the ticket price, with space set aside for disabled access camping, an eclectic range of stalls and food outlets, excellent transport links and above all the cream of folk and roots musicians as well as family entertainment to keep the children occupied. We think the line-up and location will make this the perfect summer festival and we think you will agree. www.   This information is correct at the time of sending this e-mail but I hope you will visit our website if you haven't already done so and please be aware that any changes to the line or festival information will be posted on the website or on Facebook.

I'll keep you informed of what is happening at the Village Pump Folk Club in another e-mail to follow.

Looking forward to seeing you soon, Rosie
